What Happens During Lease-End
Lease-end is an opportunity for you return your lease, purchase it or lease or buy a brand new Ford. The entire lease-end process entails a few steps:
- Excessive use and wear assessment
- Possible repairs
- Final financial obligations
- Completion of vehicle return transaction
Excessive wear and use refers to mileage and vehicle condition. For the assessment, experts perform a multi-point inspection and check the odometer. In accordance with federal law, you must sign an odometer statement. Lastly, all you need do is drop off your lease Ford at your originating Ford dealer or at your closest Ford dealer (if you've since moved).
Before Vehicle Drop-Off
Before the excessive use and wear assessment, be sure to clean your lease Ford. You may want to have the vehicle detailed, either by you or a professional. A clean lease is less likely to incur excessive use penalties. Remove all of your personal items from the vehicle. Enclose all of the items that came with the vehicle, such as the owner's manual, fob or any media hardware.
